Introducing Author Marissa Farrar

My Top Five Favourite Vampires
By Marissa Farrar

Writing about vampires was the thing that started my career almost seven years ago. It began with my vampire romance novel, Alone, which became a five book series, The Serenity Series. I then went on to write my New Adult spin-off series, The Dhamypre Chronicles, which features a little girl from the Serenity series, all grown up and about to start college. Im up to twenty-four published novels now (at last count), but despite having written all types of characters, from shifters to female veterans, I find myself writing about vampires again with my new book, Stolen. Stolen will be the next book in the multi-author Blood Courtesans series, and Im super excited about it. It will be released next month, so make sure you come and stalk me on all forms of social media to stay updated about it.

So, without further ado, Id like to give a rundown of my top five vampires!

#5
Roman Godfrey Hemlock Grove.

Okay, so I may have a thing for the Skarsgard brothers (I mean, have you seen them? Who wouldnt?), but I also really loved the dark and twisted character Bill Skarsgard plays in this show. Hes not a true vampire, exactly, but a half human, half Upir (the shows name for vampire-like creatures). Hes warped and tormented, and has a fabulous pouty mouth basically everything I love about a vampire!

#4

David  - The Lost Boys

Kiefer Sutherland is still one of my favourite actors, even when hes not playing a vampire, but David from The Lost Boys was the epitome of vampire badass!

#3
Damon Salvatore - The Vampire Diaries

Now who doesnt love Damon Salvatore? Big blue eyes, dark scruffy hair, ridiculous jaw-line.... okay, so its not all about the looks! Damon also plays the bad boy with the heart of gold. We followed his unrequited love for his brothers girl (now not so unrequited) and even forgave him when he killed the particular girls brother (among numerous other people!), But hey, who wouldnt forgive those baby-blues?

#2
Eric Northman - True Blood

I will admit that I struggled deciding between number two and three. Ive had equal love for both Damon and Eric, but I will admit that Damon sometimes irritates me, whereas Eric has never been anything but ridiculously hot. Even when he lost his memory and didnt know who he was anymore, he somehow was even hotter! So, because of that, Eric Northman, played by Alexander Skarsgard, the older of the brothers, gets my number two spot!

#1
Louis - Interview With a Vampire

Im sure this wont be everyones first choice as a favourite vampire, but I have a personal reason for Louis, played by the still gorgeous Brad Pitt, being in my number one spot. Interview with a Vampire was the book and film that started my love of vampires, and perhaps I wouldnt have written the books I have without first being inspired by this story. Plus, Louis is another tortured vampire, who struggles with his blood lust and his need for companionship. Add that to the long hair and the most biteable bottom lip in vampire-history, and Louis gets my number one spot!

What do you think of my list? How do these vampires place on your own top five? Who did I miss out? Id love to hear your thoughts.
