Meet Author Patricia B. Tighe

Hi, everybody!

It’s so fun to be a part of My Crazy Corner’s 2015 Romance Blogfest. Thanks, Apryl, for putting it together and for all your hard work.

For this post I decided to let my main character, Claire, tell you a little a bit about her LEGO hobby.

So, Claire, why do you like LEGOs so much?

What’s not to like? Well, okay, I know a lot of people think LEGOs are for little kids, but they have a huge fandom of adults all over the world. First of all, you can create things that match your interests. So if you’re a comic book fan, you can buy building sets of superheroes from Marvel or DC Comics. Movie fans can get sets for Star Wars or Jurassic World. Or you can use regular generic sets to create your own world. Second, building with LEGOs relaxes me like nothing else can. So if I’m having trouble with my parents or friends or boys, I can escape into a different world when I build.

I’ve heard that you sometimes like to imagine your friends as LEGO minifigures. Can you show us some of those?

Sure. Hopefully they won’t kill me for it. But here goes …
Let me introduce you to my friends, Lindsey and Rose. I’m on the left. Please don’t ask me about what we’re wearing—sometimes you just have to go with what you’ve got. If I had a queenly gown, that’s what Lindsey (in the middle) would be wearing.

In the next photo are the guys in our story. On the left is Gray, who has a huge crush on Lindsey (above in the middle). Beside Gray is Berger, his best friend. And on the right is Rose’s boyfriend, Sam. (Again, please don’t ask me about clothes.)

Oh, I almost forgot. There’s one more guy you should know about—Lindsey’s boyfriend, Adam. He’s a little bit older than us, so he sometimes has beard stubble. And the person with Adam in that pic is me. Just wanted to show you how I look when I have to spend more than ten minutes around him. See how expressive LEGOs can be?

Ha! I do. Thanks so much for sharing your friends with us.

No problem! :D

And here’s what LIFE IN THE NO-DATING ZONE is all about:
After surviving her parents' relationship drama when her older sister elopes, Claire Gardner vows not to date during high school. Now, three years later, Claire is thrown into new relationship drama—her two best friends have boyfriends. Which means Claire is spending more and more time alone. And she's more than a little peeved.

Enter Gray Langley. His yearlong crush on Claire's friend Lindsey has made him desperate enough to ask Claire for help with pursuing Lindsey. Hesitant at first, Claire finally agrees—anything to get rid of Lindsey's current evil boyfriend. But as Claire and Gray plot together, Claire has to fight the sparks of attraction flying everywhere.

Because she can't be with Gray unless she gives up her vow. And how can she handle the pain that'll come from confronting her parents with the reasons for that vow? Claire has to decide . . . unless, of course, Gray decides first.

The mother of two grown sons, Patricia B. Tighe lives in West Texas, with her husband and two dogs. Her love of the written word caused her to get a journalism degree from Texas A&M University in 1980 and an MA in Writing Popular Fiction from Seton Hill University in 2008. When not writing or reading, she can be found walking the dogs or yelling at the TV during an NFL game. She's also a fan of British TV shows.
